Petrol pain - 23c increase next week

Getting around is going to get even more expensive next week when South Africa's fuel prices increase by between 2.2 and 3.7 percent - the fourth increase in as many months.
This will see the price of 95 octane petrol in Gauteng rising from R10.54 to R10.77, while the coastal price is set to swell to R10.47.
Diesel, meanwhile, will increase by 3.7 percent to R10.01 in Gauteng and R9.81 in coastal regions.
Better get that tank filled by Tuesday night as the new prices take effect on Wednesday, 2 November.
So why another big increase? Even though international crude oil prices weakened during the last month, the rand has taken something of a battering - falling from average of R7.56 during the previous review period to R8.00. |
